Eduard Buynovsky


Above: two signed covers (one inscribed) from
Eduard Buinovsky, an early soviet unflown cosmonaut.
In January 1963, a group of 15 reported for duty at Star
Town. From that large group of experienced and graduated men, only a few didn't
actually made a spaceflight: Buinovski, Gulyayev, Kolodin, Kugno (all military engineers)
and Kuklin, Matinchenko, Vorobyov, Voronov (pilots).

Graduated from Military Engineering Academy, 1973; Colonel,
Russian Air Force, Ret.; was selected on 08.01.1963 as cosmonaut (TsPK-2); OKP (cosmonaut
basic training): 1/63 - 21.01.1965; resigned of medical reasons; later he was
involved in the development of communications- and controlling systems within
the Soviet Department of Foreign Affairs.
