Graduated from Higher Air Force School and from Moscow
Aviation Institute; civilian test pilot at Flight Research Institute LII; was
selected as cosmonaut for Buran-flights on 09.03.1983 (LII-2); OKP (cosmonaut
basic training): 9/85 - 1987; He participated in drop tests of early models of
the orbiter and in November 1988 was lead chase pilot for the first unmanned
flight of the Buran. In 1991, Tolboyev was co-pilot for the first manned flight
of Buran II. As originally planned, Tolboyev and Volk were to spend at least two
days in orbit; Later Federalnoe Sobranye-Parlament Rossikoi Federazya.
